A Aliança Francesa tem a tradição de promover a cultura por meio de eventos gratuitos e abertos ao público, como o Cineclube que exibe mensalmente filmes na Cinemateca de Curitiba, o Sarau Histoire que reúne historiadores em debates sobre a influência francesa no Brasil e o Café Philosophique, em que filósofos selecionam um tema e o discutem com os participantes. Neste ano, uma das novidades é a Soirée Littéraire ou Noite Literária, em parceria com o engenheiro e apaixonado por literatura, Marcelo Almeida. Serão realizados debates sobre diferentes livros da cultura francesa e francófona, a primeira obra selecionada é “Tartarin de Tarascon”, de Alphonse Daudet. Além de ser um clássico, é engraçado e leve, o personagem é uma mistura de Dom Quixote com Sancho Pança e sofre com essa dualidade durante toda a história. O encontro está marcado para o dia 26 de janeiro, quinta-feira, às 19h30, no Café Babette. Você sabia que as palavras garagem, gravata e maionese têm origem francesa? Sabia que "revéillon" provém de um termo francês que significa "ficar acordado", e que o povo franco, que deu seu nome ao país, usava a palavra "creche" para designar uma "manjedoura"? Essas e outras 50 palavras serão destrinchadas pelo professor e escritor Dominique Boyer, em encontro promovido pela Aliança Francesa. Os participantes vão descobrir muitas histórias e curiosidades que passam despercebidas no cotidiano. O Galicismo também é tema do livro de Boyer, francês que hoje vive no Rio de Janeiro. Obra de Jean Renoir, o filme “French Cancan” retrata uma época e a expressão cultural e artística do Cancan, dança que durante alguns anos foi considerada ilegal e indecente, proibida até pela polícia na França. O cineclube Aliança Francesa vai exibi-lo gratuitamente no sábado (27/08), às 16h, na Cinemateca. O diretor usa seu talento para ilustrar a mentalidade e moralidades da época. A história passa em 1890, quando o Cancan ainda está na moda, mas nem os shows da dançarina Lola ajudam o Café Le Paravent Chinois a sair da decadência. No elenco, atores como Jean Gabin e Françoise Arnoul. A sessão é aberta ao público. Sobre o Cineclube Aliança Francesa Um espaço para conhecer a produção cinematográfica francesa e francófona. Com uma sessão mensal, apresenta grandes clássicos, diretores consagrados e produções alternativas. Antes do filme, a professora e apaixonada por cinema, Viviane Ribeiro, faz uma apresentação sobre o diretor, os atores, o tema e a relevância histórica da obra.
